The litigation of the Football Bundesliga club SC Freiburg with residents of the new Europa-Park stadium is enclosed. Together with the city and the regional council, the parties agreed on a comparison. “I am pleased about it as we achieve so important planning security,” said SC board Oliver Leki. The club may now also play Friday nights and Sunday loungers (1:00 to 15:00) at home. The starting point were six residents who had filed a complaint against the 2018 building permit granted by the Regional Presidium Freiburg. By comparison, the city undertakes to build a large forest area near the stadium in the next 30 years. In addition, further service restrictions were defined for a period of ten years, which prohibit a conversion into a multifunctional hall and in the stadium environment no major concerts or open-air cinema events can be organized with more than 5,000 spectators.
